Our LEGO Innovation Club (Intermediate) is back in full speed this fall! We are thrilled to return to the FIRST® LEGO® League's Explore division and participate in a regional festival. The theme for the upcoming season is SUPERPOWERED℠ and details will be released in August.
FIRST® LEGO® League introduces STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) to children through fun, exciting hands-on learning. Participants gain real-world problem-solving experience through a guided, global robotics program, helping today’s students and teachers build a better future together. FIRST LEGO League’s three age-appropriate divisions inspire young people to experiment and grow their critical thinking, coding, and design skills through hands-on STEM learning and robotics.
In the SUPERPOWERED℠ challenge, FIRST LEGO League teams will explore where energy comes from and how it is distributed, stored, and used – and then put their superpowered creativity to work to innovate for a better energy future.
During this 12-week program, students will work as a team to learn about energy generation and come up with creative solutions to solve an energy related problem. In November/December, we will participate in a regional festival to celebrate the team's achievement! It was such a marvelous experience in 2019 when our team won an award in Kingston, Ontario (see pictures). The date and location of the regional festival will be provided by FIRST® LEGO® League at a later date.
